Aesthetic Medicine

As we get older, loss of skin elasticity and a reduction in the volume of the tissue supporting structures takes place to a greater or lesser degree. This is due to various factors such as genetic, skin type, exposure to the sun, smoking or hormone condition, and manifests in wrinkles and reduction in size of lips, cheekbones and cheeks.

Aesthetic medicine provides various non-surgical options for rejuvenating skin. The filling in of facial wrinkles and botulinum toxin are two such treatments, which give excellent results. Unlike aesthetic surgery, these treatments do not require a recovery period and the results are soon visible.

Collagen and hyaluronic acid fillers

Collagen and hyaluronic acid fillers are used to increase volume in facial areas, for example, in the lip area, above and below the eyes (for so-called “crow’s-feet”), to reduce nose and mouth furrows as well as lines of expression. As regards filler materials, our practice is to employ only reabsorbable products with temporary effects. The use of filler materials produces almost immediate results on wrinkles and enables lip remodeling or increasing cheekbone volume.
Filler implants are normally used to fill out facial wrinkles, wrinkles caused by loss of volume in facial areas such as nasogenian furrows and can also be used to increase lip, cheekbone and chin volume.
Hyaluronic acid can be used in superficial or deep wrinkles, lip remodeling or to increase a specific area. The density of the hyaluronic acid is all that varies in each of these cases. The deeper the wrinkle, the denser the hyaluronic acid used for the treatment
Hyaluronic acid is able to retain water, so that not only does it correct the wrinkle but also hydrates the area treated and increases elasticity. Our products achieve immediate results, which last between six months to a year.

Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum Toxin is not a filler, but an injectable product which prevents muscle contractions causing wrinkles by temporary paralyzing the muscles which cause the contraction.
It is ideal for the aesthetic treatment of facial wrinkles caused by expression and mimic of facial muscles.

It makes crow’s-feet and forehead lines disappear and slightly raises brows, giving the face a younger, more relaxed appearance. No anaesthesia is required.
No allergy tests are necessary.

It provides excellent results in the facial area and is more natural looking than filler products.
It can be applied any time during the year. The results are visible between the third and fifth days and the final results after fifteen days. The effects last between six months to a year.

Excess perspiration or hyperhidrosis

Excess perspiration or hyperhidrosis mainly affects the palms of the hands, the underarms, face and soles of the feet. Perspiration occurs intermittently and independently of temperature and emotional status.

The cause of this is unknown but is related to hyperactivity of the sympathetic fibers and an increase in the peripheral perspire response.

Treatment with botulinum toxin injections have proved very effective in cases where excess perspiration is in a very localized area. This treatment should be repeated 2-3 times year.

The effects of the treatment are noticeable between two to four days after the injection and the problem disappears completely in one week although the effects will last for 4 months. However, another dose should be applied to bring about a remission of the hyperhidrosis.

The advantage of this technique as compared to others lies in the fact that no anaesthesia is required and normal existence can be resumed immediately. The botulinum toxin is injected with a very fine needle.
