Skin tumours

Skin tumours

Skin tumours can be present from birth or can develop with age and can be classified as benign or malignant. Nevus, acrochordons or seborrheic keratoses are amongst these kind of tumours. As plastic surgeons, MR Cirugía Plástica can remove these lesions whilst offering the best reconstruction of the possible defect caused, thus minimizing the resulting scars.
This kind of surgery can generally be performed with local anaesthesia, without an overnight hospital stay, depending on the specific case and treatment required.
Drs. Iván Monge and Oriol Roca are specially trained in the treatment of soft tissue and skin tumours, in particular Dr. Roca, who is the leading surgeon in the Melanoma and Skin Tumour Unit at Son Espases Hospital, the referral unit for patients for the whole of the Balearic Islands. Dr. Monge is a member of the Sarcoma Committee in the same hospital. They are both greatly experienced in performing Mohs surgery, which consists of the removal of a skin tumour and its immediate analysis to ensure said removal is complete before reconstruction. These skills explain why a great number of dermatologists trust MR Cirugía Plástica with the treatment of their patients.
